Government & Military Relocation

Serving our military with pride and professionalism.

Can we pack some of our household goods ourselves?
The government requires all items be packed by the carrier. Your electronic items may be packed in the original factory cartons, however, they will be inspected by the carrier and sealed with security seals before they are placed into the overseas container.

Who is responsible for dissembling my outdoor items such as my barbeque, swing set, TV / antenna, etc.?
The Shipper is responsible for dissembling all outdoor items, including draining hot tubs, spas etc.

Am I responsible for disconnecting electrical items or will the packers do it?
The shipper is responsible for disassembling all electronics and appliances, draining waterbeds, and defrosting and unplugging the refrigerator, as well as removing all items from the attic and crawl space.

Will the Packers pack food?
Packers will pack canned food and items that will not spoil. Any open containers or items that may spoil will need to be disposed of.

How do I handle my Professional gear?
Military regulations currently allow a military member's spouse to have a pro gear allowance. If you and your spouse have pro gear, the spouse’s pro gear must be declared during counseling. All “Pro Gear” will be weighted during the packing process or 40# per cubic foot will be allowed if no scale is available. The weight will be annotated on the inventory.

What should I do with the items I will be taking with me that are not included in the shipment?
Separate the items that you will be transporting and place them in one location in your home. Indicate that the items will not be included in the shipment either by discussing with the crew or with some type of notation.

If I have a motorcycle or ATV, who is responsible to prepare it for shipping ?
It is the shipper’s responsibility to drain the gas, disconnect the battery from the vehicle, and secure all cables. Proof of ownership such as, registration, is also required.

When I arrive at the destination my shipment may need to go into storage. Is it possible to have some of the items delivered to my temporary housing?
Yes. When you meet with your Relocation Consultant note the items that you would like to be shipped to your temporary location. Either the Packers or the Driver will create a separate inventory for those items noting delivery to your temporary location.

Is it possible to find out where my shipment is while I am in transit to my new residence?
Yes, the carrier will be able to help determine where your driver is and give you an ETA of your household goods.
