The Driver is responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles;  with knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations and DOT regulations as they pertain to inspections, driving, hours of operation, safety and paperwork. Directs and performs loading and unloading of vehicles.  May supervise other workers depending upon assignment.


Physical Requirements:      Requires the ability to lift object in excess of 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects; required to bend and twist to load boxes, furniture or equipment from vehicle; must be able to work in varying climates, outdoors and indoors; work sites may be dusty or dirty; Required to work under tight timetable and understand and execute safety precautions.


Essential Functions:  Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.  Ability to work cooperatively with employees at all levels.  Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.  Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests.  Ability to exercise sound professional judgment.  Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.
